An award winning 2.5 form entry primary school and nursery with community and wraparound care facilities. The school sat on a sloping site within a mile of Coventry Airport. The sustainable design overcame issues of ‘burst’ noise from the flightpath by incorporating strategies such as embedding the school into the slope, green roofs and noise attenuation withdrawal spaces and stacks. Rainwater harvesting, geothermal heating and passive ventilation were also used.
