MDG are delighted to announce the submission of a new planning application under the class ZA permitted development instrument. The scheme at Shire House, in Lichfield, was one of the first applications of its type for the local authority and takes advantage of the new permitted development class which came into effect on the 31st August 2020.

The scheme involves the full demolition of the existing building and the erection of a new 5 floor luxury apartment block boasting generously proportioned apartments and internal communal spaces.

The client, Key Land Capital, purchased the site earlier this year and worked alongside MDG, through lockdown, in order to develop the proposals. Planning approval is expected to be received prior to Christmas with an anticipated construction start in the 2nd quarter of 2021.

Key Land Capital’s flagship new development will provide 33 new one and two bed apartments, a contemporary basement office area, a large internal recreation space as well as an innovative automated reception facility. All apartments will benefit from on-site private parking with guest parking provision with all ground floor apartments having private garden spaces.
