The project was to investigate a solution to provide additional capacity to the existing prison. The project followed on from a number of security upgrade works associated with a re-role of the prison in 2006 from a female Establishment to a Youth Offenders Institute. During the planning stages the team were informed that the project was to be the first ever Government BIM project.
Upon completion the project won the coveted ‘BIM Project of the Year 2014’ awarded by Constructing Excellence in London and the South East.
